Art Van Living Room Furniture

I never knew a day would come in my adult life where I would feel compelled to go to Art Van. But it happened. I was driving home from a trip to Target, feeling down about the lack of home furniture I came across while browsing, when I heard a radio commercial for a big sale at Art Van. I took a chance and drove straight there. I've always viewed Art Van as a store that my parents would shop at, based on the assumptions that they carry traditional furniture and are constantly having a sale. It's like the Kohl's of furniture: mass appeal, with sales so frequent that you know any shopper in their right mind wouldn't pay full price for an item. I walked in and was greeted right away, as many other reviewers have mentioned. I told the salesperson Craig that I was looking for a simple woodgrain or white floor lamp. He walked me over to the Urban section. I was impressed to see lots of modern, stylish furniture, not unlike the furniture I have drooled over at Anthropologie that I cannot afford. A lot of industrial, earthy, artsy, and global-inspired styles. It's definitely not IKEA or Target prices, but I think there are a fair amount of reasonably priced pieces. Much more in my price range than Anthropologie. After spending a lot of time in Urban, I casually walked throughout the rest of the store. Similar to a lot of furniture stores, rooms are set up by style and type – traditional, shabby chic, country, contemporary, etc. While the Urban section was definitely the most 'me,' it was fun to walk through all of the rooms. I found a few items of interest throughout the other areas, as well as the clearance section. I'm the type of person that is very analytical and needs time to make decisions. Because of this, I HATE aggressive salespeople. I had a pretty good experience with Craig. He definitely had a salesman attitude, but was quick to measure items for me, offer advice when I asked for it, and give me space when I told him I needed time to think things over. I was also satisfied with the options I had for paying. I could either pay cash/credit/debit, get 0% interest for 18-50 months if I opened an Art Van credit card, or do 90 days same as cash without them checking my credit. I don't have bad credit, but am also not looking to open a credit card, so the 90 days same as cash was perfect for me. I also feel comfortable knowing that if I needed a lot of furniture in the future, I could open a credit card and have several years to pay it off with no interest. I was just purchasing 3 relatively low-priced items, so 90 days worked perfectly for me. Be ready to say no to some add-ons when the salesperson is ringing up your purchase; well, unless you wanna say yes, that is. Overall, I think Art Van is surprisingly refreshing for someone into modern furniture like I am, looking for reasonable prices & quality, and interested in payment plan options. My parents have always had good experiences with Art Van quality, prices, and delivery, though they've complained about pushy salespeople. Regardless, I'd definitely go back.
